Scope
This role is responsible for growth in Chemistry Services in a geography for multiple clients/ collaborations, to achieve strategic objectives through efficient delivery, customer delight, cost management for maximizing profitability, employee engagement, building and enhancing new capabilities
Responsibilities
Meet strategic objectives:
Provide business and strategy inputs to BU head for a given collaboration
Implement the approved business plan
Client management:
Responsible for client engagement and retention for all collaborations in a given geography
Ensure enhanced customer satisfaction scores
Achieve revenue and profit targets:
Identify new services/ business lines from existing or new customers for growth
Focus on initiatives to retain and increase revenues from existing key customers
Control cost through alternative methods/ innovation and process optimization
Improve utilization of resources to maximize profitability
Ensure timely revenue recognition
Efficiently manage operations:
Understand client requirements through identification of project scope and ensure project planning & deliverables
Identify and mitigate project risks. Review projects periodically with project managers against project plan and timelines as per client requirements
Ensure eco-system for team in terms of infrastructure, lab equipment/ instruments etc.
Collaborate and influence internal stakeholders/ other departments (e.g. Analytical, Project Management, HR, IT, Admin, Maintenance etc.) to provide required resources/ services
Responsible for streamlining data integrity, IP confidentiality and safety protocols in the collaborations
Provide support to sales/ pre-sales team:
Provide sales team with scientific capabilities and infrastructure related details for business growth
Validate the project viability, provide go–no–go decision and necessary inputs to proposal/ S&M team
Facilitate and support sales team in deal closures/ business development activities
Ensure high morale and skill development of self and team:
Hire, motivate and retain right talent
Drive culture of self-development in the team
Develop, mentor and coach the team members
Recognize best performers through various reward & recognition programs
Career management discussions with team members
Identify and develop second in line managers
Improve employee satisfaction scores
Functional/ Technical Skills
Knowledge of Chemistry and Execution
Knowledge of safety protocols
Knowledge of IP & Confidentiality and Data Integrity
Ability to conduct cost benefit analysis & optimum usage of resources
Required Educational Qualification & Relevant experience
Ph.D./ PDF (Organic/ Medicinal Chemistry) with 13 - 17 years of relevant experience
Additional Requirements
Candidates with their research publications in leading journals would be preferred.
