GVK BIO’s HEART (Health Emphasized Analytical and Reporting Tool) platform will help reduce/reverse the progression of Chronic diseases by enabling better disease management for patients and providing preventive risk management at a very affordable cost, thus making healthcare accessible to all socio-economic segments of society.
Hyderabad, India — September 22, 2014 — NanoHealth, a social venture founded by a group of ISB alumni has launched holistic managed health care services for slum dwellers by creating local health networks and using innovative technology to bring cost-effective healthcare to their doorstep.
Nano Health has partnered with GVK BIO’s proprietary HEART (Health Emphasized Analytical and Reporting Tool) platform – a cloud based healthcare analytics framework with multiple applications which are independent while being interconnected with multiple sources of data offering predictive and deductive analysis in order to assist quick medical decision support. NanoHealth will be first to use the mobile enabled and multilingual Disease Management Application on the HEART platform to register, enroll, record and manage patients across multiple countries starting with Hyderabad in Telangana, India. The application acts as an enabler, through information processing, for the right stakeholders to decide and take action for maximum impact.
Nano Health is creating a network of community Health-workers known as “Saathis” and equipping them with a diagnostic device called “Doc-in-a-Box”. The doctor’s reach is extended by NanoHealth’s Saathis who are well-paid, empowered women in the community forming a strong network of caregivers. The team conducted their pilot in Anjaiah Nagar slum in Hyderabad and they plan to scale up in Hyderabad first before moving to other large cities.
The Nano Health team has been invited by former US President Bill Clinton and the HULT Prize foundation to make a pitch to an esteemed panel of judges at the HULT Prize finals in New York later this month. HULT Prize is the largest student competition in the world and NanoHealth is one of the top 6 finalists chosen from 11,000 applications this year.
Shiva Subramaniam, Senior Vice President and Head of Informatics at GVK Biosciences said, “The mission of HEART is to improve general health and reduce/reverse progression of chronic diseases by building patient centric, high quality healthcare and clinical systems that are simple and accessible to all and which will enable reduction of healthcare cost for all stakeholders.”
We hope that the HEART platform will help manage and reduce the threat of the rapidly growing chronic diseases especially in the slum dwellers where healthcare is the last priority.”
Manish Ranjan, CEO of Nano Health and ISB alumnus said, “NanoHealth is on a mission to prevent premature deaths caused due to chronic diseases in urban slums. We have a strong team and with the help of credible partners like GVK BIO, we are making progress every day. Our journey as a social enterprise began while attending the healthcare management program at the Indian School of Business (ISB) and our alma mater has been very supportive and encouraging of us pursuing social entrepreneurship as a career option”.
